Vehicle Description

HIGHLIGHTS:

• The Smart Alternative: If you've been searching for a 1940 Ford or Chevy Coupe, stop.  This Buick offers upscale pre-war executive styling that standard GM cars simply couldn't touch.

• Torque Monster: True to its premium lineage, this street rod is proudly powered by a massive Buick 455ci Big Block V8 with is the undisputed king of low-end torque.  No boring small-block Chevy engine swaps here.

• The "Everything Works" Unicorn: Unlike most custom builds that require a weekend of troubleshooting, every single gauge, switch, light, and luxury option in this car works!

BODY OVERVIEW:

Walk into any local cruise-in and you will see a dozen 1940 Fords.  If you want to stand out, you buy a Buick.  In 1940, these were premium luxury machines, and this all-steel Special Coupe carries that are-deco presence with pride.  Completely free of waves or bubbles and the car features high-end subtle body modifications that the average viewer won't notice but car guys will.  They include shaved door handles, Frenched lights, flip up fuel door, and custom widened rear fenders that give it an aggressive tire stance on classic American Racing wheels.

PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW:

The custom Burgundy Metallic paint is laser-straight and looks incredibly deep in the sunlight.  It presents today as if it was painted yesterday.  There are minor signs of use consistent with a well-maintained, occasionally enjoyed class.  This is not a trailer queen.  This car was meant to be driven and shown off.

INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW:

The biggest headache with buying someone else's street rod project is the electrical gremlins.  This Buick breaks the mold.  The custom burgundy with black and grey leather interior balances modern comfort with the original art-deco dash design, featuring power leather bucket seats and a custom-fitted center console with cup holders. Here is the real kicker: The speedometer, odometer, oil pressure, temperature gauge, fuel gauge, tachometer, wipers, horn, and windows ALL work! Toss in a chrome tilt steering column and ice-cold air conditioning and you have a pre-war cabin built for effortless 500-mile road trips.

MECHANICAL OVERVIEW:

Instead of cutting corners with a generic crate engine, the builder kept this coupe loyal to its roots with a legendary Buick 455ci Big Block V8.  Built for effortless highway cruising, it's backed by a bulletproof, heavy-duty TH400 3-speed automatic transmission and a GM 10-bolt rear end. The mechanical package is fully sorted for modern traffic: an aluminum intake manifold, HEI ignition, power steering, and power front disc brakes.  Thanks to a heavy-duty aluminum radiator and an electric cooling fan, it starts instantly, stays ice-cold in summer gridlock, and emits a deep, authoritative rumble through a custom duel exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers.

WHAT YOU’LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR:

• True Exclusivity: You'll be the only 1940 Buick Coupe at 99% of the car shows you attend.

• Turn-Key Reliability: No project-car headaches.  It runs, drives, steers tightly, and stops with absolute confidence.

• Road Trip Ready: Ice-cold A/C and functional gauges mean you can drive it across the state tomorrow.

WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR:

• It is a high-quality, exceptionally well-maintained older restoration and not a zero-mile concours museum piece. It’s built to be used and enjoyed on the street.

DOES IT NEED ANYTHING?:

This Buick is 100% turn-key and ready to be driven right out of our showroom. It runs, drives, and operates beautifully with zero mechanical or electrical needs. The only thing it requires is standard routine fluid maintenance going forward, a
